Ironbridge 4

Almost 40 runners from Newport and District Running Club joined a field of over 250 to run just over 4 miles through the Ironbridge Gorge in the fourth of the Sexarathon races organised by Telford AC recently.

Still showing tremendous form on a sticky night was Robin Guy, whose time of 24m 28s was good enough to gain him 16^th place in a very competitive group near the front.

Maurice Reid was also running at a good pace and was 44^th in 26m 28s with Paul Parkinson chasing him home in 26m 49s to be 51^st.

Alex James and John Taylor had their own little battle with Alex just emerging the victor in 66^th position in a time of 28m 04s with John 67^th just three seconds behind. Chris Halstead followed them in very shortly afterwards in 71^st in 28m 25s.

In 93^rd and 94^th respectively were Andrew Coles and David Brown in 29m 21s and separated by only 5 seconds with Darren Churm 102^nd in 29m 44s, Steve Fowles 104^th in 29m 58s and Sally Potts 107^th in 30m 01s, still well inside the top half of the finishers.
