Grindleford Gallop
Last weekend meant that Helen Skelton, of Newport and District Running Club, travelled to the Peak District in Derbyshire to run over 20 miles around the Grindleford Gallop.
Over 300 runners had entered the event which was a hard, hilly event and mainly off road. With some great views, the athletes had to go through the village of Eyam and past Bakewell, before passing through the grounds of Chatsworth House and running along Baslow Edge and back to Grindleford.
Helen’s training around Church Stretton stood her in good stead as she managed to be 33rd overall and 2nd lady on the day in the time of 3hr 03m 16s.
