Chester Marathon

John and Ollie Stokes travelled to Chester on bank holiday Monday to take part in the Chester Marathon. No strangers to the distance, both had already competed in other events earlier this year and were hoping to improve on previous times.

Running out of Chester along the Green Way (an old railway track) around 1000 runners set off to Queensferry and back along a nice flat track with some nice scenery.

Ollie managed to record a time of 4hr 20m 23s which sadly didn’t beat his London time. This was unfortunate as he seemed to be improving as the season progressed and hoped that it was just a temporary setback.

John, however, had a dream previous to the race that he was an Ethiopian and it seemed to spur him on to great things as he put in a personal best performance to cross the finish line in 4hr 54m 48s.
